Further praise for The Red Prince

"This play is an absolute BLAST!" - Ed Bye, Director (Red Dwarf, Bottom, Absolutely Fabulous)"Astute and very, very funny." - Gareth Roberts, Columnist (The Spectator)⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Nothing is spared writer Tim Dawson’s scalpel-sharp nib, as the targets of his satire fire like a machine gun into the audience. This is clearly not a script that has been sitting on a dusty shelf while it gestates into a fully-fledged work; the gags are so contemporary (Peter Mandelson) that it makes the work feel very much alive. It would be wrong of me to try and resurrect some of the best lines here simply because they are so well crafted that my re-phrasing will not do them justice. In the phrasing so commonly used by our politicians: let me be absolutely clear, I do not want anyone to miss this show." - Everything Theatre⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The writer Tim Dawson creates in Kitman an incisive portrait of a disillusioned MP without any firm convictions, born on a tide of initial optimism, who sinks when it becomes clear that he is lost in a political landscape without a dynamic centre. There are some good one-liners about political ineptitude and the relationship between politicians and the press (Kitman amusingly compares the imagined response of different headlines of various news outlets to his bumbling and failures). The play feels very in tune with the current political climate, down to the crafting of single arrow-like phrases." - A Young(ish) Perspective

Script consultancy recommendations

“Tim gave my script a very thorough analysis, giving positive feedback and encouragement on the good parts and detailed constructive notes on the problem areas, giving in depth and precise advice on how to fix them. He also invited me to push back, making the process a two-way conversation rather than just a wham-bam thank you ma'am experience. Invaluable service!” - Ned L."Working with Tim was the best investment in myself. He got my voice immediately, challenged anything that didn’t sound like me, and left me buzzing to write more. Insightful, honest, encouraging and exactly what I needed. If you’re serious about your craft (and I am) and you want to get your work out there, you have to send it to Tim first. His service is collaborative, offers practical advice with industry insight and will give you the confidence to create your very best work. Don’t send anything anywhere until Tim’s had a look at it first!" - Lisa H."Beyond his professional achievements, Tim is an outstanding mentor and collaborator. As part of Comedy Lab, he has played an invaluable role in supporting emerging writers and performers, offering insightful guidance, compassionate critique, and practical advice drawn from years of experience in the industry... Tim has an exceptional knack for helping new writers turn rough ideas into fully realised sitcom premises, providing structure, confidence, and a working sense of what makes a scene land." - Tom Short, Founder, Comedy LabFurther script consultancy details here.
